Presentation

Thoracic kyphosis for evaluation.

Patient Data

Age: 20 years
Gender: Male
x-ray

There is a slight scoliosis of the mid and lower thoracic spine concave to the left. Mild thoracic kyphosis.

Normal segmental vertebral anatomy. Very mild lower thoracic spine scoliosis. Thoracic kyphosis (60 degrees) centered on T7 with anterior wedging from T5-T7. Elsewhere in the body height and intravertebral disc space height is normal. Marrow signal is normal. Lower thoracic Schmorl's nodes. 

Conclusion:

Thoracic kyphoscoliosis consistent with Scheuermann disease.

Case Discussion

This is a case of Scheuermann disease, with a thoracic kyphosis and anterior wedging of three vertebral thoracic vertebrae.
