Follow-up for a chronic relapsing demyelinating disease.
Patient Data
Multiple hyperintense foci on T2 and FLAIR scattered through both the infra and supratentorial white matter, arranged perpendicular to lateral ventricles, some involving the callososeptal interface and some in a juxtacortical distribution. Some lesions have an incomplete enhancement around the periphery. There is also a mild and diffuse brain atrophy.
Multiple hyper signal d short segment foci along the spinal cord, on transverse images they show typical triangular shape.
Case Discussion
This case is very illustrative of the multiple sclerosis involvements both in the brain and in the spinal cord, with typical features inferring active lesions (open ring enhancement) in the brain and also the chronic evolution of this condition characterized by a mild diffuse brain atrophy.
