Vertebra plana - multiple myeloma

Presentation

Follow-up from spine clinic.

Patient Data

Age: 70 years
Gender: Female

T12 vertebra plana with kyphoscoliosis convex to the left. 

Near complete collapse of T12 vertebral body, more so on the right. The remainder of the T12 vertebral body on the left is expanded by soft tissue which continues posteriorly into the left pedicle. The right T12 pedicle is replaced by soft tissue, which erodes into the head of the right 12th rib, now fractured.
