Presentation

Recent onset of moderate to severe acute abdominal pain.

Patient Data

Age: 25 years
Gender: Male

There is telescoping of one of the ileal loops inside the next one giving an appearance of bowel within bowel (target sign).

Multiple enlarged mesenteric lymph nodes are seen, which could be a lead point for the intussusception.

Case Discussion

The patient underwent surgery in the same day of admission and proved to have ileo-ileal intussusception with multiple enlarged mesenteric lymph nodes (lead point). Bowel milking was done to reduce the intussusception without resection.
