Incidental finding in an oncologic patient.

Patient Data

Age: 58
Gender: Male

Left brain arteriovenous malformation predominantly cortical and extended toward the splenium. Vascular dilatation is present in the left ambient cistern. There are vascular calcifications.

The midline structures are slightly deflected to the right.

Case Discussion

This case demonstrates an extensive left arteriovenous malformation involving the left temporal and occipital lobes  and showing a diffuse/proliferative nidus. Large and tortuous venous vessels are seen draining parently to the superior sagittal sinus, left transverse sinus and internal cerebral veins.
