Transforaminal cervical spine epidural nerve root injection

Discussion:

Selected images illustrating the 22G needle position at the left C6/7 intervertebral foramina for a steroid injection. Dexamethasone and bupivacaine were injected.

The local anesthetic is used to confirm that the treatment is aiming the nerve causing the patient complains. In this case, the patient referred immediate improvement of the numbness symptoms in the left C7 territory.
