Pneumothorax post malposition of nasogastric tube

Presentation

Acute shortness of breath following NG tube insertion.

Patient Data

Age: 60 years
Gender: Female

The NG tube passes through the right main bronchus and into the right lung and likely the right pleural space. There is an associated right pneumothorax of moderate size. No mediastinal shift evident.

Left PICC tip is projected in the upper SVC. Tracheostomy tube well positioned.
