35 year-old construction worker. Wood fell on head. Vomiting and pain.

Patient Data

Age: 35
Gender: Male
ct

Moderate sized frontotemporal acute extra-dural hematoma causing ventricular effacement and midline shift.

Underling undisplaced frontotemporal skull vault fracture.

No contracoup injury.

Case Discussion

Textbook example of an extra-dural hematoma.

Lentiform or 'lemon' shaped and with an underlying fracture as is nearly always the case.
