Presentation

Long standing constipation since early childhood.

Patient Data

Age: 8 years
Gender: Male
Barium

Small caliber of the distal rectum with proximal dilatation. Fasciculation of the aganglionic segment is seen.​

Significantly dilated colons with collapsed rectum. The transitional zone can be appreciated in all axial, coronal and sagittal planes. The rectosigmoid ratio is completely obliterated.

Case Discussion

Commonly a short segment of aganglionic distal colon/rectum is responsible for the disease. A late presentation like this case can result in significant proximal dilatation.
