Diagnosis almost certain

Presentation

Patient with limb mobility limitation, spinal cord injury and paraplegia.

Patient Data

Age: 40 years
Gender: Male
x-ray

Pathologic, partially circumferential bone formation surrounding the right shoulder, elbow joints and femoral shaft.

x-ray

Pathologic bone formation at the posterior aspect of the right knee joint, there is greater than 1 cm in length of the bone island formed.

x-ray

Pathologic bone formation with a trabecular pattern of the calcification surrounding the right and left hip joints and proximal femur with some sclerosing and cystic regions.

Case Discussion

There is also zonal mineralization pattern is seen with some peripherally cortical bone maturation.

Findings are most likely suggestive of multiple heterotopic ossifications.
