Long-term low back pain
Patient Data
L2 to L5 vertebral bone marrow edema associated with gross irregular areas of T1 and T2 hypointensity located at the anterior longitudinal ligament.
Severe degenerative changes more prominent at the L3 to L5 levels, where spondylodiscoarthrogenic canal stenosis grade 2 is present.
Slight anterior L4-L5 facet joint subluxation more prominent on the left causing L4 anterior spondylolisthesis.
Kissing spine appearance of the lumbar spinous processes.
Prominent anterior L2-L5 osteophytes fused by calcified anterior longitudinal ligament
Slight L4 anterior degenerative spondylolisthesis.
Kissing spinous processes.
Case Discussion
Abnormal lumbar spine appearances due to a combination of degenerative spondylosis, Baastrup syndrome, and diffuse idiopathic skeletal hyperostosis (Forestier disease).
