Presentation
Infant's brothers (eldest 11 years old) cared for her, parents were in another room. Infant suddenly started crying. Her father grabbed her and handed her over to her mother, who felt a dent in the head.
Patient Data
Indentation in left parietal bone measuring approximately 3.5 cm in diameter and 13 mm deep.
No intracranial hemorrhage or superficial hematoma.
Case Discussion
A ping pong skull fracture can either be seen in a neonate as a result of birth trauma or in a young infant due to blunt trauma. In this case, the parents did not inquire about the cause of trauma before arriving to the pediatric Emergency department.
