Gastric gastrointestinal stromal tumor

Discussion:

The most common submucosal tumor of the GIT is the gastrointestinal stromal tumor. It presents late due to its extra luminal location and symptoms only arise when it has significantly grown or spread to other viscera. Anemia brought this patient to our attention rather than weight loss or loss of appetite, the usual constitutional symptoms of neoplasm. Fortunately, they also respond well to treatment.
