Case Discussion
Antiscatter grids are routinely used to prevent a degradation in image quality caused by scattered x-ray beams. These grids are made up of x-ray transmitting material, like aluminum strips, and x-ray absorbing material, like lead strips. If the frequency of these lines per cm in the grid is close to the computed radiography sample frequency, then a grid artifact can occur.
