Complete rupture of the distal calcaneal tendon with retraction and waviness of the proximal part, which shows pathological signal and surrounding inflammatory fullness. Few tendon fibers remain at the calcaneal insertion, whose proximal part is frayed and highly disorganized. The gap between the torn ends measures 9 mm across, while the distance between the proximal torn end and the preserved distal part of the tendon measures 3.2 cm across.
Subcutaneous edema surrounding the ankle.
