Normal physiological distribution in 68Ga PSMA PET scan

Case Discussion

Physiological uptake in 68Ga PSMA PET scan. Kidneys, ureters and urinary bladder exhibit highest tracer intensity as the compound is excreted renally. Furthermore, PSMA is also excreted in the saliva; hence, increased uptake is seen in salivary glands.

Small bowel loops primarily duodenum also show increased tracer uptake as PSMA expression in small bowel facilitates folates absorption.

Liver and spleen show moderate physiological PSMA uptake. Lacrimal glands also show normal physiological PSMA uptake.
