How would you position the patient for the procedure?
The patient should lie on a bed or couch if they feel unwell or faint, it will take only minimal effort to get them in a more appropriate position. The options for bed positions include lying flat and injecting in a craniocaudal orientation, or with the bed at a 45-degree incline and injecting anteriorly.
Ultrasound images show the 25G needle cannulating the ACJ in a transverse orientation, with the image stack showing the spread of the corticosteroid containing injectate.
