The left kidney is enlarged extending from the left hypochondrium to the left iliac fossa with echogenic dysplastic renal parenchyma and undeveloped pelvicalyceal system. It shows multiple variable-sized cysts with thin walls and clear fluid content.
Normal right kidney.
Case Discussion
Left kidney appearance is consistent with multicystic dysplastic kidney. It is a pediatric cystic renal disease and is most commonly an incidental finding on antenatal ultrasound.
