Ovarian dermoid cyst

Presentation

Left pelvic pain.

Patient Data

Age: 30 years
Gender: Female
mri

There is a lobulated left ovarian mass (6.5 x 4 x 3 cm), composed of numerous small masses of high signal on T1 and T2, attenuated on fat sequences with moderate heterogeneous enhancement on postcontrast sequences. A small floating nodule (1 cm) is noted within the largest mass of intermediate to high signal on T1, low signal on T2, with no enhancement.

The left ovary shows numerous small follicles.

Normal appearance of the uterus.

Minimal free fluid is noted in Douglas pouch.
