MRI pituitary region

mri

MRI of the pituitary region demonstrates enhancing soft tissue mass involving the anterior and posterior pituitary as well as the infundibulum which is markedly expanded. The superior component severely compresses and elevates the optic chiasm. Incidental note is made of a cavum septum pellucidum et vergae.

CT pituitary region

ct

Transphenoidal biopsy was performed.  Single coronal image from a contrast enhanced CT demonstrates an enhancing mass in the suprasellar region. The floor of the pituitary fossa is now deficient and the sphenoid sinus is opacified by fluid / blood.
