Presentation

Pain around left knee.

Patient Data

Age: Young adult
ct

An expansile lesion involving the proximal fibula has irregular periosteal reaction and is mostly lytic with a small area of central calcification. No involvement of the adjacent tibia. No convincing soft tissue mass. 

Nuclear medicine

Delayed bone scan images demonstrate marked activity in the proximal fibula. No other lesions. 

Knee x-rays post operative

x-ray

Postoperative x-rays of the knee. The patient went on to have a curettage and bone graft of the lesion.

This case demonstrates appearances of an osteoblastoma which was confirmed histologically.
