Chronic myeloid leukemia with splenic infarction

Presentation

Left hypochondrial pain. Known case of chronic myeloid leukemia (CML).

Patient Data

Age: 55 years
Gender: Female

CT abdomen performed and demonstrates hepatosplenomegaly. The spleen shows abnormal heterogeneous attenuation with peripheral, wedge-shaped low attenuating area suggestive of infarction.

Enlarged para-aortic lymph nodes are also seen.

The uterus is large for the patient age and demonstrate somewhat heterogeneous enhancement; need to be further evaluated clinically and by US or MRI.

Left sided sympathetic effusion is seen associated with atelectasis of the left lung base.
