The posterior aspect of the knee is anatomically complex and especially laterally clinically important.

The posterolateral ligamentous complex of the knee includes:

  • popliteus tendon
  • popliteal fibular ligament
  • oblique popliteal ligament
  • arcuate ligament
  • fabellofibular ligament
  • lateral collateral ligament
  • biceps femoris tendon
