Epiploic appendagitis - ascending colon

Presentation

Right flank pain.

Patient Data

Age: 50 years
Gender: Female

 Ovoid structure of fat-density lateral to the ascending colon with a thin peripheral hyperdense rim "hyperattenuating ring sign", and small central hyperdense dot (most likely representing a thrombosed vascular pedicle), and surrounding inflammatory fat stranding.
