Case contributed by Francis Fortin
Diagnosis almost certain

Presentation

Fall on outstretched hand

Patient Data

Age: 30 years old
Gender: Male

Linear bony fragment in front of the pisiform bone, at the site of clinical tenderness, likely a partial avulsion fracture at the insertion of the flexor carpi ulnaris tendon.

Case Discussion

Pisiform fractures are rare carpal bone fractures, usually due to direct trauma. In this case, the linear fragment was thought to be rather due to avulsion. Treatment is conservative.
