Accessory left horizontal fissure

There is a thin, smooth linear radiopaque density in the left mid zone arising from the left hilum, oriented horizontally and resembling the right horizontal fissure. There are two well-defined nodular opacities in the right mid zone adjacent to and above the right horizontal fissure - probably calcified granulomas.
Case Discussion
The left horizontal fissure is identified in 1.6% of subjects. It separates the lingula from the rest of the left upper lobe (anterior-apicoposterior segments). Most commonly, the left horizontal fissure is higher than the right.
