Shoulder trauma.
Patient Data
Disruption of the superior and inferior acromioclavicular (AC) ligaments, coracoclavicular ligament, and ruptured joint capsule is seen associated with joint separation superior displacement of the clavicle relative to the acromion.
The trapezius muscle is partially torn.
Abnormal intra-substance increased signal and thickening is present along the course of subscapularis tendon, likely related to tendinosis.
Acromion type II also is noted.
Case Discussion
Patient referred to us with the history of shoulder pain and immobility after direct shoulder trauma. Regarding the imaging findings, this is a type 3 acromioclavicular joint injury according to Rockwood classification.
