Presentation
Patient presented with right hypochondrial and epigastric pain for the last 5 days
Patient Data
The GB wall is thickened and edematous with pericholecystic fluid. Dependent small dense calculi are noted resembling milk of calcium.
Left rectus abdominis muscle shows focal thickening and subcutaneous linear stranding from previous laparoscopic intervention.
Case Discussion
CT is not routinely done for suspected cholecystitis and usually reserved to detected complication such as gangrenous or emphysematous transformation and pericholecystic abscesses.
Features of calculous cholecystitis in CT are similar to that detected in ultrasound such as detection of intraluminal gallstones, wall thickening and edema, pericholecystic fluid.
