Acute hepatitis

Presentation

Abdominal pain and fever

Patient Data

Age: 13 years
Gender: Male
ultrasound

The gall bladder has diffuse edematous wall thickening. Unilateral wall thickness is measuring 10 mm. 

The liver has altered echogenicity. 

No pericholecystic fluid collection.

Case Discussion

The features described above are compatible with, although not highly specific for, acute hepatitis.
