Presentation

Upper abdominal pain and vomiting.

Patient Data

Age: 40 years
Gender: Male
ct

CT finding of moderate peripancreatic fat stranding and free intrabdominal fluid extending into left perirenal and pararenal spaces. No enhancement was seen at the pancreatic tail evidencing a focal area of necrosis. 

Case Discussion

Laboratory tests demonstrated high amylase and lipase levels. 

The CTSI was 6 (Balthazar E + < 30% necrosis), characterizing moderate pancreatitis.
