Presentation

Recurrent severe abdominal pain.

Patient Data

Age: 25 years
Gender: Female

CT Abdomen and pelvis

The pancreas is seen enlarged with hazy borders as well as peripancreatic fluid and smudgy fat. A 3.6 X 3 cm ill defined fluid collection is seen within the lesser sac.

Minimal left pleural effusion. 

Case Discussion

Acute pancreatitis with acute fluid collection "phlegmon" formation and minimal left pleural effusion.

The diagnosis was confirmed by laboratory investigations.
