Adenocarcinoma of the lung with chest wall invasion

A 70-year-old female passive smoker presented with a history of intractable back pain not responding to conservative therapy.

Patient Data

Age: 70-year
Gender: Female

CT scan shows a large well defined peripheral lung mass in the left lower lobe causing destruction of the adjacent ribs as well as extension into the soft tissues of the chest wall. A low-attenuating lesion is also seen in the right adrenal gland representing a metastasis from a lung carcinoma.

Case Discussion

Biopsy performed under ultrasound guidance.

Histopathology confirmed Adenocarcinoma of the lung.
