4-year-old girl brought by her parents to the emergency department with fever and shortness of breath.

Moderate adenoidal hypertrophy causing moderate-severe nasopharyngeal narrowing

Case Discussion

Adenoidal hypertrophy is enlargement of the adenoid tonsils, most commonly secondary to an underlying inflammatory process. 

It is commonly seen in the pediatric population.
