Angiomyolipoma

Presentation

Left flank chronic dull pain.

Patient Data

Age: 60 years
Gender: Male
ct

A large predominantly fat attenuating relatively exophytic lesion arising from interpolar region of left kidney: 10 x 7 x 7.5 cm. The lesion is abutting the left psoas muscle. No invasion. Effacement of the renal parenchyma and collecting system is noted. No discrete hydronephrosis. No nephrolithiasis.

Right kidney is normal. No focal lesion, hydronephrosis or nephrolithiasis.

Case Discussion

The imaging features are diagnostic of left renal large angiomyolipoma.

ADVISE: As the size of the mass is large; intervention needs to be considered as larger lesions have potential risk of hemorrhage.
