There is a minimally displaced transverse fracture through the distal ulnar epiphysis, the no other level of the talar dome (Weber A). No other fractures or malalignment.
Case Discussion
Ankle fracture classified as Weber A represents:
- fractures below the level of the talar dome
- usually transverse
- tibiofibular syndesmosis intact
- deltoid ligament intact
- medial malleolus often, but not always, fractured
- usually stable if medial malleolus intact
