Presentation
Right lower quadrant pain. No vomiting, diarrhea or UTI symptoms.
Patient Data
A right iliac fossa fairly defined and lobulated cystic lesion about 13 x 8 x 6.5 cm is seen intimately related to the cecum with fluid density as well as several foci of mural calcification. Minimal peri-lesional fat stranding with small likely nonspecific mesenteric lymphadenopathy. No evidence of ascites or pelvic collection. No peritoneal soft tissue mass lesions.
Case Discussion
A peri-cecal lobulated and tubular cystic mass lesion, suggestive of appendicular mucocele. The patient was operated and the cystic lesion excised with no discrete mass lesion. The histopathological examination revealed appendicular mucocele.
