The arcuate foramen is contained within the circle annotation.

Case Discussion

The arcuate foramen atlantis is a anatomical variant of the atlas (C1).

It arises due to calcification of the oblique atlanto-occipital ligaments. The vertebral arteries pass through this foramen.
