Case Discussion
This is a good example of an aspergilloma - this is essentially a 'ball' of viable fungus that has colonized and old cystic cavity, in this example and old tuberculous cavity.
These are chronic lesions, usually with minimal symptoms; this is in stark contrast to invasive aspergillosis which is a rapidly progressive and often fatal disease process seen in immunosuppressed patients
