Avascular necrosis of hip joint (bilateral)

Presentation

Chronic pain in both hips, aggravated by walking.

Patient Data

Age: 35 years
Gender: Male

Abnormal marrow signal intensities are noted in bilateral femoral heads, on the right side it appears as large geographic patch and on the left side T2 hyperintense line noted. Mild joint effusion is noted on the left side.

Imaging features are those of bilateral stage II avascular necrosis of femoral head.
