Bicondylar fracture of tibial plateau

Presentation

Patient Data

Age: 60 years
Gender: Male

Bicondylar split fracture of right tibial plateau reaching the articular surface with disruption of metaphyseal-diaphyseal continuity.
There is also a vertical tear of lateral tibial plateau. Mild lateral displacement of the fractured fragments is noted.
Bone marrow contusion of distal femur is seen however no fracture line is noted.
Significant soft tissue swelling is noted surrounding the tibial compartment of right knee joint.
Hyperintense signals in the anterior horn of right lateral meniscus.

There is evidence of discontinuity of the lateral collateral ligament.
