Case Discussion

Bifid or forked ribs are uncommon. They are thought to occur in ~0.2% of the population.

Usually asymptomatic, they may cause musculoskeletal pain or intercostal nerve entrapment. If of the first rib, then they may be an uncommon cause of thoracic outlet syndrome.
