Bizarre parosteal osteochondromatous proliferation

Presentation

Painful enlarged bone lesion of the right 2nd toe.

Patient Data

Age: 60 years
Gender: Female

XR right foot

x-ray

Osseous surface lesion of the medial aspect of the base of the 2nd proximal phalanx.
No apparent continuity with the medullary cavity.
 

Well-marginated, heavily marginally calcified lesion applied to the medial cortex of the 2nd proximal phalanx. 
Lesion contains fat.

Case Discussion

The lesion had increased uptake on NM SPECT scan.

Histologically proven BPOP.
