Presentation
Bowed legs
Patient Data
There is fragmentation, depression and beaking of the medial tibial metaphysis on the right. The metaphyseal diaphyseal angle is increased and there is mild right-sided tibia vara. Relative cortical thickening of the medial tibial shaft is also noted on this side, likely reflecting the altered biomechanics.
On the left, the medial tibial metaphysis is somewhat prominent, but without overt fragmentation or beaking.
Case Discussion
Features in keeping with Blount disease involving the right knee, and possibly the left, to a lesser extent. Blount disease is one of the causes of leg bowing in children.
