Geographic medullary areas of serpiginous borders are seen implicating the metaphyses of the distal femur, proximal tibia and patella of the left knee eliciting T1 serpiginous peripheral low signal and central marrow signal. Double-line sign seen on T2WI.
Osteoarthritis and joint effusion are noted as well.
Case Discussion
Geographic medullary areas of serpiginous borders and double line sign on T2WI are diagnostic of bone infarcts.
