There is a breast tissue spacer or expander to allow the tissue and skin to expand for breast reconstructive surgery.

Case Discussion

Breast expander implants are often used as part of staged breast reconstruction following mastectomy. The expanders allow the breast tissue to stretch prior to definitive implants being positioned.
