Bronchogenic carcinoma mimicking a breast implant

Case contributed by Frank Gaillard
Diagnosis almost certain

Patient Data

Gender: Female

Rounded opacity projecting over the right chest and seeming to conform to the outline of the breast is actually within the lung when seen in lateral projection.

Case Discussion

Yet another good example of why two projections are needed. You would be forgiven for mistaking this very large bronchogenic carcinoma (proven histologically) for a right-sided breast implant
