A well-defined lytic lesion with a narrow transitional zone is noted at the anteroinferior portion of the calcaneus, showing a small central sclerotic focus.

Case Discussion

This is a case of an intraosseous calcaneal lipoma with a tiny central calcification, an incidental finding in a patient with ankle trauma. This appearance resembles a cockade, a badge worn on a hat, and is therefore called the "cockade sign".
