Bilateral globi pallidi oval shaped areas of altered signals eliciting low T1 and high T2 and FLAIR signals. Similar smaller foci are also seen in the left putamen.

This case was confirmed as carbon monoxide (CO) intoxication
Other causes of bilateral globi pallidi lesions include Leigh disease, Wilson disease, Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (CJD) as well as other toxic encephalopathies, such as cyanide or methanol exposure.
