Stroke after stenting of carotid stenosis

Patient Data

Age: 70
Gender: Male

In Figure 1 we can see the initial staining of the stent and the absence of staining of the stent's distal part. Figure 2 shows the presence of blood flow in the external carotid artery and the absence of the internal carotid artery.

Case Discussion

This case shows a very rare complication after carotid stenting, the acute stent thrombosis.
