Cavernoma - splenium of the corpus callosum

Presentation

Chronic headaches

Patient Data

Age: 60 years
Gender: Female

Small hyperdense splenial nodule (1cm) in the right paramedian location, protruding into the adjacent ventricular lumen with no enhancement on postcontrast images.

The previously described lesion appears of heterogeneous high signal centrally on all sequences with a peripheral rim of low signal (hemosiderin), and signal loss with blooming on gradient echo sequence. No surrounding edema or postcontrast enhancement.

Small Tornwaldt cysts.
